Design Evolution
Our first solar model assumed a steady grid, but midday brownouts at our school knocked the inverters offline right when classrooms needed fans. We rebuilt it around how the grid actually behaved, with batteries. Rural government schools broke it again because many had no reliable grid at all. After visiting those schools and listening to their teachers, we started over with off-grid systems sized to keep fans running through the afternoon.
Listening to Teachers
Our journey began with a fundamental realization: no solar system works in a vacuum. By visiting rural schools and listening to the teachers' needs, we rebuilt our off-grid models to ensure they keep classrooms cool and students focused. We started over with systems sized to keep fans running through the afternoon, ensuring our solar power truly serves the students.
